Salesforce Turns Slack Bot into Personal AI Agent to Save 90 Minutes a Day

Salesforce unveiled a completely reworked Slackbot that transformed from a passive assistant into a personal AI agent capable of independently completing tasks. The new feature aims to eliminate switching between applications and, according to early users, saves up to 90 minutes daily. It is available for enterprise customers with Business+ and Enterprise+ subscriptions, with Salesforce positioning it as an answer to the growing problem of "agent sprawl" — the chaos from too many disparate AI tools.

From reminder to autonomous colleague

Slackbot has been part of the Slack communication platform since its launch in August 2013. For many years it functioned as a simple scripted bot that responded to preset queries or set reminders via the /remind command. In winter 2023, the first major upgrade came in the form of a pilot version of Slack AI, which offered thread summaries and channel recaps. From February 2024, these features were available to everyone, but they were still passive tools — the user had to click the "Summarize" button and then work with the output themselves.

The new Slackbot AI agent radically changes this approach. Users can assign it tasks in natural language, and it completes them without requiring further human intervention. It can create a document from a meeting, schedule an appointment by checking calendars, search for information across channels and connected systems, or for Salesforce customers pull data from CRM and combine it with recent Slack conversations into a single briefing document.

Concrete savings: 90 minutes daily

One of the first prominent users of the new feature is Sinan Deriş, marketing chief of the popular Beast Games project by MrBeast. According to his words, Slackbot saves him "at least 90 minutes daily". He specifically described a situation where he asked the bot to create a meeting summary: "In 17 seconds it was better than I could ever manage myself. I also got next steps, which saves time and money."

The main sources of productivity are not just in quick note-taking. Salesforce identifies three key areas: removing context switching between applications, automating repetitive document creation, and instant information retrieval without manually browsing channels and files. The agent respects access rights — it only sees what the user is authorized to access.

Orchestration of agents instead of chaos

A major theme this year is "agent sprawl". Companies are deploying standalone AI agents for sales, human resources, IT support, and other departments. But employees must learn which agent can do what, and switch between different interfaces. Salesforce wants to solve this problem with Slackbot by positioning it as an orchestration layer.

The user asks a question in natural language directly in Slack, and Slackbot either resolves the task itself or forwards it to a specialized agent — whether it's Agentforce for customer data, a custom HR agent, or a third-party tool. Christine McHone, global leader for technology and media at Slalom, describes her experience: "Instead of switching between applications and losing my train of thought, I can stay in Slack and keep working. It completely changed my efficiency."

Comparison with competition: who can do what and for how much

The market for enterprise productivity platforms has shifted toward AI agents faster than many expected over the last 18 months. Key players offer similar but philosophically different approaches:

  • Microsoft Copilot — for $30 per user per month, it automates document creation, data analysis, and email management directly in the Office ecosystem. It is available to Czech companies as well; Czech localization is gradually being expanded.
  • Google Gemini — generates content and automates email workflows within Google Workspace as a paid add-on to existing plans.
  • Zoom AI Companion 3.0 — launched in December 2025, costs $10 per month standalone or is part of paid plans. It focuses on multi-step post-meeting workflows: summaries, task extraction, and follow-up actions.
  • Atlassian Rovo — agents automate support and can work inside Slack via integration, searching across Jira and Confluence.

Salesforce has bet on conversation as the coordination layer. While Microsoft controls the application layer of documents and Google the work environment, Slack tries to be the place where work is directed before it is distributed into specialized systems.

Availability and price for Czech companies

The new Slackbot AI agent has been available since January 2026 for customers with Slack Business+ and Enterprise+ subscriptions as part of a gradual rollout. The exact price of the AI feature itself is not listed separately because it is part of the higher tiers. For Czech and European companies, this means that if they already use the paid version of Slack at these levels, the new features will be automatically available to them. Salesforce simultaneously guarantees respect for access rights and company policies, which is crucial in the context of European data protection requirements and GDPR.

Czech localization of the Slack interface has long been available, and the AI agent itself responds to natural language — theoretically therefore communicating without problems in Czech as well, although the official specification of supported languages for the new agent features has not yet been published in detail. For companies operating in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, it is nevertheless important that Slack has data centers in Europe and meets data sovereignty requirements.

Where the future of enterprise productivity is heading

While the competition is racing to integrate AI into individual applications, Salesforce is betting on a unified conversational interface. It is a logical step — the average employee at a larger company switches between dozens of tools daily, and each such switch costs time and concentration. If Slackbot manages to become a true orchestration layer for various specialized agents, it could significantly change how companies work.

Initial feedback suggests that time savings are real. The question remains how quickly the new feature will reach ordinary users on lower tiers and whether Salesforce can convince companies that conversation is a better control layer than documents or spreadsheets.

Is the new Slackbot AI agent available in Czech?

Slack as a platform has long supported the Czech interface. The new AI agent works on the basis of natural language, so it should understand Czech queries as well, although the official list of supported languages for the latest agent features has not yet been published in detail.

Do I need a special paid add-on to use Slackbot?

No. The Slackbot AI agent is part of existing Slack Business+ and Enterprise+ subscriptions. If your company already uses one of these plans, the feature will become available to you as part of the gradual rollout without additional fees.

How does Slackbot ensure corporate data security?

Slackbot respects existing user access rights and company policies. It can search and work only with information that the given employee is authorized to access. This is crucial for compliance with internal regulations and European GDPR.
