The world of artificial intelligence has experienced unusual tension in recent weeks. What was supposed to be a smooth introduction of the latest technology turned into a political dispute between tech leader Anthropic and the Donald Trump administration. Today, however, we can confirm: Claude Fable 5 is back, even in a modified, safer form.

Political Pressure and the Return of the Fable 5 Model

The path of the Fable 5 model to users was not straightforward. As reported by CzechCrunch, Anthropic was forced to withdraw its new models just three days after their launch. The reason was serious national security concerns from Washington. Critics and government officials pointed out that the protective mechanisms (so-called guardrails), which are intended to prevent the misuse of AI for creating dangerous content, could be easily circumvented in this model.

Anthropic, however, did not give up. After intensive three-week development and tightening of security protocols, the Fable 5 model is now once again heading to the public. This situation shows how sensitive the area of the most powerful models is from a geopolitical perspective. For us in Europe, this means an important lesson: even the best tools can be influenced by political decisions in the USA, which underscores the need for strong European regulation and diversification of sources.

Mythos Class: What Makes Fable 5 Different?

To understand the significance of this model, we must look at a new category that Anthropic defines as the Mythos class. While previous models (like Claude 3 Opus) were primarily advanced chatbots capable of complex analysis, Fable 5 represents a shift towards agentic AI.

This means that the model no longer just answers the question "what is it," but can independently solve long-term tasks. According to information from Trendy Svět, it particularly excels in these areas:

  • Software engineering: The ability to work with entire code repositories, not just individual files.
  • Scientific research: Analysis of extensive datasets and drawing hypotheses in several steps.
