Ecomail opened the door for Claude and ChatGPT directly into the data
Company Ecomail introduced a new functionality based on an MCP server (Model Context Protocol), which connects its email marketing platform with popular AI tools Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor. As the first Czech email marketing tool with this solution, it wants to make everyday work with data, campaigns, and contacts easier for marketers and e-shop operators.
After connecting, users can communicate with their account through natural language. Instead of complicated clicking through reports or exporting spreadsheets, it is enough to ask a question directly in the Claude or ChatGPT interface. The AI tool connects to the data in the emailing account via MCP and returns an answer including information that is not directly visible in the basic Ecomail interface. The user thus gains a broader data context for decision-making about their campaigns.
"AI is more of an inspirational toy for some, but we have decided to use it as an intuitive interface for working with data and campaigns. We want marketers not to have to open another tab, search for the right report, or export data for every answer. The purpose of this new feature is to simplify work with emailing and establish the use of AI as part of everyday practice," said for Channeltrends Jan Tlapák, CEO and co-owner of Ecomail.
Safety first
Ecomail places emphasis on the security of the connection. The connection works via the OAuth authorization protocol, so the user does not hand over their login credentials to the AI tool. When connecting, the user simultaneously sees what data they are granting access to and remains fully in control. The final campaign dispatching remains exclusively in the user's hands in the native Ecomail interface — here, AI does not act as an autopilot, but as an intelligent assistant for working with information.
"With AI, speed and convenience are not enough. Equally important is that the user has control over what the tool accesses and how it works with data. That is why we have set up the entire solution to be as practical as possible, while transparent and safe for everyday use," adds Tlapák.
The MCP server is currently available free of charge within the tariff — the user only pays for the AI tool or model itself. Ecomail currently supports ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor.
The market is driven by demand for time savings
The Ecomail integration comes at a time when Czech and Slovak companies, according to a survey by GFI Software, are actively looking for ways to make email communication more efficient. The survey among Czech and Slovak partners shows that 91% of respondents consider real-time automated responses to be the main benefit of artificial intelligence in the field of corporate emails.
The biggest challenge remains the creation of meaningful responses — 68% of corporate users struggle with this problem. Half of the respondents are bothered by an excess of emails every day, 32% lose concentration on their main work activities, and 29% struggle with sorting and forwarding messages to other people.
In the area of intelligent automation of email communication, 88% of respondents see the greatest benefit in reducing the time spent managing emails, 67% in cost savings on their processing, and 48% in faster response to requests. Almost a third of respondents (30%) appreciate more efficient processing of emails in foreign languages.
GFI Software bet on its own agent Eloquens
Just to meet the demand for automation, GFI Software introduced the tool Eloquens AI this year. It focuses on reducing the time that professionals spend on emails daily — on average it is about 2.6 hours per day. According to the manufacturer, Eloquens can reduce the time spent managing emails by 40 to 60%, reduce the cost of processing responses by 30%, and accelerate reaction to critical messages by 70%.
Eloquens currently offers three tariffs: Solo for 60 USD per month (500 sent emails), Team for 150 USD per month (2,000 emails), and Business for 300 USD per month (5,000 emails). The tool supports 160+ languages, including Czech, and integrates with Gmail, Microsoft 365/Outlook, and Kerio Connect. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, it is distributed by Zebra Systems.
Big players are not lagging behind
AI in email communication is not the domain of only specialized tools. Microsoft recently announced that Copilot's agent capabilities in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications are now generally available to all Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft 365 Premium subscribers. According to Microsoft's internal data, after the launch of these features, user satisfaction with Copilot in Excel increased by 65%, in PowerPoint by 25%, and in Word by 21%.
Meanwhile, Ecomail is planning further steps. "MCP is not the end point for us, but another step in the long-term development of working with AI. For over a year, we have been working on our own model, thanks to which users will be able to evaluate and automate a large part of their work directly in the application. We want to offer the first outputs before this summer's holidays," concludes Jan Tlapák.
What does this mean for Czech companies?
For Czech and Slovak companies, which today deal with overloaded email inboxes and lengthy routine communication, solutions are coming on several fronts. Ecomail shows that even local players can quickly adopt top technologies like MCP and integrate them with global LLM models. Large corporations like Microsoft or GFI Software, on the other hand, are pushing for increased productivity in the entire corporate communication ecosystem.
The important thing is that in both cases, the human remains at the helm — AI works as an assistant, not a replacement. For the Czech market, where surveys still show a cautious approach to new technologies, this combination of control and automation may be the key to wider adoption of artificial intelligence in everyday practice.
What is an MCP server and why is it important for connecting AI with applications?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol that allows AI models to securely access data and functions of external applications. Thanks to it, ChatGPT or Claude can become a direct interface to your email marketing account, CRM system, or database without developers having to create complicated custom integrations.
What are the main risks when connecting corporate data with artificial intelligence?
The biggest risk is the unintentional leakage of sensitive data into public AI models. Therefore, it is important to choose solutions with a transparent approach to permissions — such as Ecomail with OAuth authorization — and always know what data the AI tool accesses. For large language models, it is also appropriate to verify whether the provider processes data within the EU and complies with GDPR requirements.
How much time do Czech professionals spend on email management on average per day?
According to an analysis by GFI Software, professionals spend an average of 2.6 hours per day handling emails. Interruptions to work due to a new message then cost another 23 minutes to regain concentration. That is why companies are looking for ways to automate routine communication and free up time for more strategic activities.
