EU AI Act: Throwing a Wrench into Open Source?

Now that the EU AI Act is rolling out, I'm seeing a lot of confusion about how it applies to open-source projects. The transparency rules and risk classifications look fine on paper, but the paperwork involved could push small teams out of the ecosystem. Are we actually making AI safer, or just making it harder for anyone but big
